Successful Information Event at Waake Municipality
We are pleased to share a brief update on our engagement with the local community at the research site Waake, where we recently hosted a successful Information Event on MultiStress FOR.
The evening provided the opportunity to present the implementation plan for the experimental infrastructure (18 rain-out shelters) at the Galgenbreite and to engage directly with citizens. We enjoyed the open atmosphere, the many interested questions, and the constructive exchange throughout the event. It was particularly valuable to be able to explain planned activities in more detail and to hear local perspectives and concerns.
At the Waake site, construction of the rain-out shelters has started and will continue till July. The rain-out shelters will form the core infrastructure of the experimental platform. They will enable us to impose controlled drought conditions as well as other environmental stress scenarios relevant to multistress research. Once completed, the fenced field site will be used exclusively for research activities. Yet, we plan further engagement with the local community through various field days and outreach activities.
Hereby we sincerely thank everyone who attended the information event for making time, for the keen interest in and support for our research, and the constructive dialogue!
